Student of the Year

Imagine my surprise when I received a letter that max was receiving an award at the eighth grade ceremony. don't get me wrong...max is a good student...he just has never been "award" material. us mccuskers usually aren't. we got a little worried when most of the evening went by and his name was never called. i even asked if he was sure he even got one! but mr. nagano (social science) got up and said "max has always been quick to grasp the significance of events, the historical players involved and the concepts embedded within every lesson. he consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to take the lessons of the day and weave them into the "big picture" concepts that we had been building upon during the previous days and weeks." well. that definitely isn't the "normal" max that we are used to. he definitely saves his best for school. we usually get brittany spears or shakira impersonations. happy to know that max has a serious side! mr. nagano told glenn and i that max was the reason he goes to school every day! don't get me wrong...he shimiied (sp?) all the way to the stage.
